Hey guys! I’m slowly getting the engine rolling and the wheels churning again after a big break from the blog for the wedding, an event that I spent months and months and endless hours preparing for mentally, physically and creatively. With the anticipation during the lead up and the emotions flying around on the day itself, it’s as if I have had to close one of the biggest, most intense chapters of my life thus far. In the meantime have been going through something that I feel can only be described as ‘nesting’, kind of like before you have a baby. I wonder if any other newlyweds out there have gone through a similar thing, or whether it’s just me, but basically, since about three days after the wedding, all I have done is clean, tidy, organize, sort out and spring clean my life. Painting, paperwork, bills, work that has piled up that needs my attention – I have been chipping steadily away at it all, often until the wee hours of the morning. I don’t remember feeling this tired and overwhelmed since I had my daughter. But slowly I am emerging, and one thing has definitely helped to boost me back into the world of blogging and the work I do that I love so much – check it out! My photograph of blogger Nancy Berendsen‘s gorgeous home made the cover of issue 2 of the German lifestyle mag Sweet Living Magazin, and the whole tour is inside! Here’s a sneak peek:

Sweet Living Magazin issue two - Avenue Lifestyle

You may have spotted this home from my Decor8 column a few months back, and then I featured it again right here on the blog. I was thrilled and honored when the editor of Sweet Living Magazin expressed her interest in featuring the story, (they had already featured another home tour in their first issue – the home of Femke Dekker of Femkeido) but I didn’t realize it was going to be their cover story. A lovely surprise indeed!

Nancy’s home was an absolute treat to photograph, an all white base layered with charming details and pops of colour. Below is another peek at the feature, and my favourite photo from the tour of her white painted brick fireplace.

Sweet Living Magazin is a lovely publication showcasing inspiring interiors, design, living trends and ideas with a focus on the Scandinavian interior and lifestyle. In this issue I was pleased to see that they also featured the beautiful new book ‘Decorate With Flowers‘ by Holly Becker of Decor8 and Leslie Shewring of A Creative Mint.

The book is available in several different languages including English, German and recently, Italian and is filled with creative ideas with fresh florals. Those of you who read and understand German will be pleased to see the German version of this book ‘Wohnen Mit Blumen‘ on the pages of Sweet Living.

Love the moodboard ideas shown above using fresh flowers for inspiration! Would love to give this a try at home. Both women are incredibly talented so I have no doubt their book is as inspiring as it looks.

If you live in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, the latest issue of Sweet Living Magazin with all of this stunning inspiration is out now at newsstands throughout all three countries.

Well, I’m signing off for the weekend! I plan to soak up some sun with my family, finish off and send our wedding thank you’s to all the amazing people who celebrated with us, and do some little things around the house. I photographed two lovely homes this week too, and I doubt I’ll be able to resist flicking through the images. It’s always a bit like Christmas, going through the memory card after a shoot and discovering the good ones in the pile! What about you? Any exciting plans for the weekend?

Have a lovely one!
