Inside Scoop: Tina Fussell’s Copenhagen Home

January 6th, 2015

Hey guys, Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed a peaceful break and are rearing to go again. I’m feeling recharged after some disconnected time and am ready for an awesome year! Our holidays were spent chipping away at our renovation, making huge progress I can’t wait to share with you. I thought I’d kick off 2015 with another Inside Scoop, this time taking you through the Copenhagen home of Tina Fussell {blogger, photographer and stylist behind Traveling Mama} and her lovely family, who have just returned to Denmark after 6 months in the US. You might recall I went to Denmark and Sweden back in March this year with photographer Jansje Klazinga to style and shoot three interiors together. It’s always a waiting game afterwards while the images are sold to magazines and then printed but I am thrilled to see another production published, this time in the January issue of the Dutch magazine Ariadne at Home. Nice way to kick off a new year, right? Let’s step inside Tina’s home.

Tina and her husband Jack Fussell, along with their three gorgeous kids Hailey, Parker and Landon, have called this charming three story Copenhagen townhouse home since 2010, having spent several years living abroad in Spain as well as Morocco. “Officially, we are an American family, but we are truly what you would call global citizens. We live where Jack’s work as an entrepreneur and photographer brings us; moving to Copenhagen was our twentieth!” The ‘Traveling Tribe’, as they call themselves, have based themselves close to the centre of Copenhagen, in a house with a small terrace in a quiet street. “The latter is especially nice for the kids.” Get the full scoop

Inside Scoop: Vintage Meets Modern in Madrid

December 11th, 2014

It’s been a while since I took you guys into a beautiful space, but today do I have a treat for you! You may have read over on Instagram that I spent a couple of days shooting in Madrid a few weeks ago? Well today I’m excited to walk you through one of the interiors I got to capture – a light, crisp apartment in downtown Madrid, and the results of a mammoth refurb headed by interior designer and my blogger pal Corinne Kowal who turned it’s interior from dark and dated into a bright but soothing space full of charm. Let’s get this party started, shall we?

Inside Scoop: Family Fun in a Malmö Home

September 18th, 2014

A few months back I jumped on a plane with photographer Jansje Klazinga to style and shoot a few Scandinavian interiors. We visited three stylish bloggers who each showed us inside their lovely homes. Peggy Juche was one of them. As a pro kids lifestyle blogger, I had no doubt that the Malmö home she shares with her family was going to be an absolute delight and I was right. Light, bright and dedicated to family fun, this Swedish abode was a joy to step inside. This tour has published in this month’s 101 woonideeën magazine, but for those of you outside of the Netherlands who don’t have access to the magazine, here’s a peek into one of the most family friendly homes I’ve entered to date. And what would a family friendly home tour be if I didn’t start with the sweetest kids room ever!

Inside Scoop: Monochrome Amsterdam Abode

September 9th, 2014

It’s always a buzz to see my work featured in a magazine, so I was thrilled to see some of the images I took of the Amsterdam home belonging to Desiree Groenendal of Vosgesparis featured in the latest issue of SOFFA Magazine {pages 130-143}. Her high contrast abode, which I shot for my Decor8 column a few months back, has been home to the interior design blogger for the past 25 years and over the years she has given it her signature monochrome, industrial, Nordic sense of style. Here’s a peek at the feature, plus more shots of her home.

Inside Scoop: Family Friendly Abode by a Dutch Design Duo

July 28th, 2014

Did you guys have a good weekend? I had the great honor of doing the flowers and venue styling for one of my closest friend’s wedding and am feeling exhausted but fulfilled. Here’s a peek at the bouquet I rustled up late last Thursday night for her, which she was thrilled with. {Phew!} Back to work today, and I noticed it’s been a while since I posted on my ‘Inside Scoop‘ column and took you through an inspiring interior that made it’s way behind my lens recently. So to kick off the week, take a tour around the cheerful family home of Dutch designers Tineke Beunders and Nathan Wierink, filled with pastel tones and unique one-of-a-kind finds, which I recently photographed for my Homes with Heart column on Decor8. I had such a great day shooting this lovely fresh space, not to mention the couple’s adorable daughter {who was loving being behind the camera}. Check it out!

Inside Scoop: A Boho Beautiful Country Home

June 20th, 2014

Perhaps inspired by the Modern Bohemian Style post I wrote this week, but I couldn’t resist sharing this stunning home with you all today – a light and bright country home boasting exposed beams, minimalistic yet warm furnishings both old and new, and texture for days. I photographed this home on behalf of my Berlin based agent recently and what a treat it was. The owner of this home is a textile designer who clearly has an eye for colour, style and design. I particularly loved the home’s central living, dining area and kitchen. An eclectic mix of furniture with bold yet subtle hues makes this home pretty close to perfection for me.

Inside Scoop: Fresh Scandi Inspired Style in Amsterdam

April 7th, 2014

Hi guys! I’ve been prepping like a mad woman for a presentation I am giving tomorrow at Anouschka Rokebrand‘s photography workshop where I will be talking about working with a photographer from a stylist’s point of view. It’s a daunting task and I needed a slight diversion from it all so I thought I’d pop in to share with you a few snaps I took recently for my Homes With Heart column on Decor8. Step inside the light, bright Scandinavian style Amsterdam home of Jessica Peters, the owner of the lovely interiors boutique Design Lemonade. Her affinity for a muted palette and bright shocks of colour interspersed here and there and the charming vignettes throughout her home hit the spot for me. Enjoy!

Inside Scoop: Fresh and Colourful Dutch Family Home

February 11th, 2014

Kicking off a new week today with a bright and cheerful home! This time, it is the bright and cheerful home belonging to Nancy Berendsen, which I photographed last year my Decor8 column, Homes with Heart. The moment I stepped inside this Oostzaan, The Netherlands, abode, I was in love. Calm but colorful, eclectic but contemporary. It was all of those things and more. It was a feast for the eyes, so as you can imagine, a lot of clicking of the camera ensued and I’m excited to bring you the full scoop today. Just the ticket too because it’s starting to feel a lot like spring around these parts and this tour inspired me to boost the colour factor at home and start getting excited about the warmer temperatures that are on their way and will have us enjoying the outdoors in no time!
