Simple, White and Crafted with Love

My obsession with ceramics continues, guys. Not only is my own collection at home growing at a rate faster than I can accommodate my delicate new friends, but I continue to fall in love again and again over Pinterest too. But I’ve been noticing I seem to be drawn most to white ceramics, or is it a trend I am cottoning onto? Perhaps my recent visit to a beautiful ceramics studio has me dreaming of minimalistic pieces in varying shades of white, packed with texture and etched with subtle detailing. Either way, simple, white and crafted with love seems to be the object of my affection these days and the theme for some of my favourite ceramic finds below too. A drip here, a smudge there and a bit of a dip too, I’m sure these snaps below will have you as smitten as me.

 Avenue Lifestyle / July Adrichem

Here’s a little sneak peek at a beautiful feature I photographed at the studio of ceramicist, stylist and multi-disciplinary designer July Adrichem. It was the most inspiring day, spent with gorgeous and multi talented July and my friend Lotte who is a wonderful Dutch writer – I love collaborations like this, I returned home with a full heart and a bursting memory card. I adore July’s minimalistic designs and delicate palette and I can’t wait to show you more. For now though, a few more inspiring snaps that have me awash with inspiration.

I particularly love the look of white ceramic bowls grouped together to finish off some simply styled shelves, or white textured vases grouped together on a mantel, or just on their own. Dutch interiors and lifestyle stylist Cleo Scheulderman created this shot above for a past issue of vtwonen magazine. I loved her composition and product choice the first time I saw it in print and I continue to find inspiration in this one image today. Love the textures but the simplicity at the same time, and her eye for colour is always spot on.

Tina Fussel, my friend whose home I styled last year for a feature in Ariadne at Home magazine I did in collaboration with photographer Jansje Klazinga, shot this photograph recently at Lily Ashwell‘s gorgeous shop in California and good heavens, I am literally drooling over those mugs and bowls. Be mine!
